About the Role
We are currently looking for Agronomists with walnut farming experience to support an exciting project within the agricultural sector. Our client is focused on enhancing walnut production, sustainability, and overall crop management, and requires highly skilled professionals to join their team on a project basis.
This is a unique opportunity for agronomists with practical, hands-on experience in walnut cultivation to work on a project that aims to optimize production, improve crop health, and implement sustainable practices.
About the Role
As a Project-Based Agronomist, you will play a key role in walnut crop management, providing expert guidance on soil health, pest control, irrigation, fertilization, and yield maximization. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, offering technical support and contributing to the development and execution of best practices for walnut production.
You will be responsible for assessing the current state of crops, providing actionable insights, and developing customized strategies to address specific challenges in the walnut farming process. The role involves field-based work, and the ability to work independently while managing relationships with growers and stakeholders is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Assess and monitor the health of walnut crops, identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement

Develop and implement crop management strategies focused on yield optimization and pest/disease control

Provide technical advice to walnut growers, assisting with soil management, irrigation practices, and fertilization techniques

Collaborate with the project team to design and implement sustainable farming practices

Analyze data from field trials and observations, making recommendations based on your findings

Support training and education for growers on best practices in walnut farming

Report progress and provide feedback to the project manager on key milestones and outcomes
About You

Proven experience in walnut farming or tree crop management, ideally with hands-on fieldwork

Strong knowledge of soil health, irrigation systems, and pest and disease management in walnut farming

Experience in crop analysis, data collection, and yield optimization

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks on a project basis

Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with growers and stakeholders

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to offer practical, actionable advice

Flexibility to travel to different farm locations as required for project implementation
